History

The Online School of Prayer is a live, interactive platform for intercessory prayer. Each session begins with a prayer of dedication and then a teaching on a healing prayer topic. After the teaching we offer a time for facilitated small-group prayer. A trained facilitator is assigned to each break out room and will take the lead in prayer for a volunteer. The other members of the break out room are invited to witness the prayer session and learn more about how to intercede for someone. The evening concludes with a general session that may include testimonies, Q&A, and other comments.

The School of Prayer originated with a team of dedicated prayer warriors in the Portland, Oregon area called The Abide Team. The School of Prayer took its first form as a three-day conference with workshops and classes. Attendees loved the classes and information and regularly requested more, whether in seminar, conference, retreat, or outreach formats.

A weekly gathering was offered in Portland Oregon beginning in 2017. Each Tuesday evening included a teaching session for a pertinent topic, and then a time of practicing prayer in small groups. A regular group of intercessors formed to learn, experience, practice, and build confidence in listening prayer.

The coronavirus pandemic of 2020 interrupted the regular meeting of prayer warriors for a period of time. However, the interest was high and a virtual conference format was established. The Online School of Prayer was begun in response to this disruption. In the initial weeks of online training it became apparent that this platform would extend the reach and availability of this training.

Welcome to this ministry. We hope you come and see what God is up to among His people.
